USS Alexandria, U.S. Nuclear-Powered Submarine, Makes First-Ever Port Call in South Korea

The U.S. nuclear-powered submarine USS Alexandria has made its first-ever port call in South Korea. The USS Alexandria (SSN-757), a Los Angeles-class nuclear-powered attack submarine weighing approximately 6,900 tons, arrived at the South Korean Navy’s Busan Operational Base in Nam-gu, Busan, on Monday morning. The submarine docked for crew rest and resupply operations. This is the first time the USS Alexandria has entered South Korean waters. The submarine measures 110 meters in length and 10 meters in width and carries a crew of approximately 140 personnel. South Korea’s Navy stated, “With the arrival of the USS Alexandria, we aim to enhance ROK-U.S. naval exchanges and cooperation while further strengthening our combined defense posture.”
