The Republic of Korea Air Force’s 1st Fighter Wing held a completion ceremony on February 28 for eight Polish pilots who successfully finished the T-50 aircraft training program.

The pilots began their training last November and underwent approximately 16 weeks of instruction covering aerial maneuvers, instrument flight operations, and other aspects of T-50 flight training.

To ensure a systematic and comprehensive education, the 1st Fighter Wing assigned 13 instructor pilots from the 189th and 216th Flight Training Squadrons to provide thorough guidance and assistance in adapting to the unit’s operations.

A cultural exploration program was also organized to help the Polish pilots become more familiar with Korean culture.

Captain Marcin Michalak, one of the Polish pilots, shared his thoughts on the experience, stating, “I realized that the Republic of Korea Air Force’s outstanding flight training program is the key to producing elite pilots. I will apply the skills and expertise I have gained from this training to protect my country’s airspace.”

Colonel Lim Jun Wan, commander of the Aviation Operations Wing, remarked, “We are pleased to enhance the capabilities of foreign military pilots while promoting our Air Force’s excellent flight training system. We will continue to operate this training program to contribute to the defense industry and military exports.
