Service members from South Korean and U.S. ammunition units came together to foster camaraderie and deepen mutual understanding.

From Monday to Tuesday, the ROK Army’s 8th Ammunition Depot under the Ammunition Support Command hosted an exchange event with the U.S. Army’s 6th Ordnance Battalion at Camp Carroll in Waegwan-eup, Chilgok County, North Gyeongsang Province.

On the first day, soldiers from the 8th Ammunition Depot received a briefing on the unit and participated in digital marksmanship training and an emergency vehicle rollover escape drill. They also sampled U.S. military Meals, Ready-to-Eat (MREs), which helped build rapport.

On the second day, participants took part in the U.S. Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) and engaged in CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear) training exercises.

Both ROK and U.S. personnel noted that the event greatly contributed to enhancing their understanding of joint operations and improving their crisis response capabilities.

Colonel Cha Seung Han, commander of the 8th Ammunition Depot, stated that the event served as a meaningful opportunity to strengthen the ROK-U.S. partnership in the field of ammunition support and pledged to continue expanding such exchange programs in the future.
