Officer cadets and NCO trainees undergoing training at the Naval Education Command have successfully completed their voyage training.

On Wednesday, the Naval Education Command announced, “Over 40 officer cadets and NCO trainees completed the first voyage training of 2025, which began on Tuesday, and returned to Jinhae Naval Port.”

This voyage training was part of the “Shipboard Adaptation Training,” held from Monday to Friday. It included 30 officer cadets from the 137th class and 13 NCO trainees from the 284th and 285th classes. The training was designed to provide junior officers and NCOs with basic training and experience aboard naval vessels. The 4,500-ton training ship Hansando was deployed for the exercises.

The trainees sailed between Jinhae and Busan, practicing essential skills for operating naval vessels, such as navigating narrow channels, passing through minesweeping routes, and anchoring operations. They also experienced standing watch duties that they will perform in active service. While in Busan, the trainees visited the command and control center at the Fleet Command Headquarters, reinforcing their commitment to protecting the seas.

After completing the voyage training, the trainees will continue to enhance their expertise through damage control training and tailored education based on their military branches and specialties aboard the Hansando, currently docked at Jinhae Naval Port.

Junior Officer Jung Tae Yoon remarked, “Seeing scenes I had only encountered in photos and videos come to life right before my eyes was overwhelming. I will do my best to become an elite naval officer capable of achieving decisive victories.”
