The Republic of Korea Air Force’s 10th Fighter Wing (10th FW) announced on June 30 that it had completed its combat readiness enhancement period, a training program designed to maximize unit-level combat capabilities and ensure the execution of wartime missions.
The program, conducted from June 26 to 27, aimed to supplement and reinforce areas identified as lacking during the March 25-1 Operational Readiness Exercise (ORE). Through repeated and immersive drills, the unit significantly improved its operational execution.
This training period featured several unfamiliar but essential drills for service members, such as Second-in-Command Command Post Exercise Day and alternate command post operations. It also included mandatory exercises such as hydrazine decontamination and air raid alerts simulating suicide drone attacks, all intended to strengthen the unit’s response capabilities.
The Second-in-Command Command Post Exercise Day simulates chaotic wartime conditions in which the primary commander is absent. In such scenarios, the next senior officer assumes command to ensure combat capability is preserved.
The 10th Fighter Wing stated that it will continue to conduct essential training to maintain high standards of mission execution and ensure combat readiness at all times.
