□ On July 11, the United States, South Korea, and Japan conducted a trilateral aerial exercise over international waters south of Jeju Island, involving the deployment of a U.S. B-52H strategic bomber.

□ This marks the first deployment of the B-52H strategic bomber to the Korean Peninsula in 2025, and the exercise included participation from the Republic of Korea Air Force’s KF-16 fighter jets and Japan’s F-2 fighter jets.

□ The purpose of this exercise was to enhance the deterrence and response capabilities of the three countries against North Korea’s advancing nuclear and missile threats.

□ South Korea, the United States, and Japan will continue trilateral training based on close cooperation and will work together to deter and respond jointly to threats from North Korea.
