Korea Aviation Engineering & Maintenance Service (CEO Bae Ki Hong, hereinafter KAEMS) announced on Monday that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Gloria Aviation Co., Ltd. (CEO Shin Dae Hyun, hereinafter Gloria Aviation) to expand orders and strengthen competitiveness in the aircraft MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) business.
The agreement aims to expand business through synergy between KAEMS, the only MRO-specialized aviation maintenance company designated by the South Korean government, and Gloria Aviation, a company specializing in aviation education and training.
To achieve this, the two companies will closely cooperate based on mutual trust to maximize joint growth in the aircraft MRO market.
KAEMS CEO Bae Ki Hong stated that the company currently provides line and heavy maintenance services to 20 domestic and international airlines, including Air China. He emphasized KAEMS’s commitment to developing the MRO industry into a future growth engine for Korea.
Shin Dae Hyun, CEO of Gloria Aviation, expressed his expectations that the MOU would effectively combine the strengths and capabilities of both companies, significantly improving productivity and operational flexibility. He added that they will strive to make it a model for successful industry collaboration.
Established in July 2018 as a subsidiary of Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), KAEMS is the only MRO company officially designated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of South Korea. It leads the domestic MRO industry by focusing on mid- and heavy-level maintenance and performance upgrade programs for military and government helicopters, including the ROK Air Force’s F-16 fighter jets, as well as aircraft used by the police, coast guard, fire department, forest service, and Marine Corps.
Gloria Aviation was initially founded in June 1990 as the Korea Aviation Professional School. Today, it operates as a comprehensive aviation company, offering a wide range of services. These include aviation education through the Uljin Flight Training Center and Gloria Flight Academy, as well as leasing helicopters for emergency medical services, wildfire suppression, and VIP transport both domestically and internationally.
