The South Korean and United Arab Emirates (UAE) navies have committed to expanding maritime security cooperation through joint exercises and educational exchanges. On Tuesday, the two countries held the 7th Korea-UAE Navy-to-Navy Meeting at Abu Dhabi Naval Headquarters in the UAE.

The meeting was organized to strengthen military cooperation through increased reciprocal visits between the two navies. Representatives from both countries attended the conference, including Brigadier General Park Soon Sik, Director of the South Korean Navy Headquarters Policy Office, and Brigadier General Rashid Khamis Al Rabie, Director of UAE Naval Operations.

During the meeting, the two navies exchanged views on various collaborative measures, including fostering personnel exchanges through high-level reciprocal visits, expanding military education exchanges, promoting joint training exercises, enhancing mutual logistical support, and increasing cooperation on doctrine-related matters.

Brigadier General Park emphasized, “Today’s international community is confronted with simultaneous and complex challenges that threaten peace and stability. To overcome these challenges, trust and cooperation among nations are more crucial than ever.” He further expressed hope that maritime security cooperation with the UAE, including increased joint training and educational exchanges, would continue to grow.

Meanwhile, on the same day, the Korean Navy delegation paid a courtesy visit to Lieutenant General Saeed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Commander of the UAE Navy, and visited the UAE Doctrine Training Center, engaging in further exchange activities.
