On Friday, soldiers from the South Korean Army’s 5th Infantry Division’s Leopard Brigade visited Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, for an exchange event with the U.S. 501st Military Intelligence Brigade.
Invited by the 501st Military Intelligence Brigade, 40 soldiers from the Leopard Brigade toured intelligence and reconnaissance assets at Camp Humphreys, including the Field Station Korea (FSK) intelligence operations base. They also visited the Eighth Army Museum, fostering a shared sense of being a One Team that transcends national and language barriers. A brigade spokesperson highlighted the visit’s significance: “Through this visit, our soldiers gained valuable insights into the advanced intelligence and reconnaissance assets operated by U.S. forces and deeply felt the importance of close joint operations.” This exchange builds on a joint exercise conducted with the 501st Military Intelligence Brigade earlier this year. Since then, the two units have engaged in friendly exchanges and plan to expand these opportunities further to strengthen their close relationship.
Colonel So Byung Hoon, commander of the Leopard Brigade, stated, “Even with language and cultural differences, we will do our utmost to achieve the best teamwork under our shared objectives. We will continue to foster camaraderie through ongoing exchanges and training.”
