JCS Chairman Kim Myung Soo Inspects Readiness of 7th Maneuver Corps and Missile Units Amid North Korean Threats

Last Thursday, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) Adm. Kim Myung Soo visited the Army’s 7th Maneuver Corps Command and a missile firing unit under the Missile Strategic Command to inspect military readiness and encourage troops committed to combat preparations despite severe cold weather.

During his visit to the 7th Maneuver Corps Command, Kim received a briefing on wartime and peacetime combat readiness and measures to enhance combat capabilities. He instructed, “As a maneuvering corps tasked with strategic and operational-level missions, maintain a posture to deter war and swiftly secure decisive victories in operational theater missions on the Korean Peninsula during contingencies.”

He then visited the missile firing unit to evaluate the preparedness against the increasing threat of provocations from North Korea. He emphasized, “As the strategic strike force of the South Korean military, show without hesitation the overwhelming strength of the Republic of Korea during contingencies. Demonstrate the consequences North Korea will face through actions and results for its provocations.”

Kim’s on-site inspection aimed to assess the military’s capability to perform strategic and operational missions amidst persistent North Korean threats. It also encouraged front-line troops to maintain unwavering readiness, even in harsh winter conditions.
